Bookkeeper Assistant/ Financial Services Assistant

WORK SCHEDULE
Work schedule may include weekdays, weekends, holidays and annual Abbott House Open House.
DUTIES:
Enter information into the online medical benefits system to check eligibility for each new resident. Enter information into the online legal system to check for any past or outstanding legal issues when the Assistant Administrator is unavailable. Provide any eligible residents with the money which is due to them from their benefits on Monday and Friday, upon request. Compile reports to show information and statistics: Summarize details in separated ledger/ computer files. Transfer details to a general ledger. Invoice Residents and insurance. Complete federal and state tax deposits. Complete annual tax forms. Monitor office supply levels and reorder as necessary. Provide information to the external accountant who creates the company's financial statements Handle the financial records. Assist with budget preparations. Record financial transactions such as outgoing and incoming checks and Resident Trust Fund transactions. Record cash receipts. Maintain the petty cash fund. Receive requests for materials and equipment for the company. Maintain PCC insurance and authorizations. Post payment adjustments Weekly resident banking Seeking full-time, Monday through Friday or part-time for 4 days during the week. Knowledge of quick books Knowledge of insurance in healthcare and/or nursing home is helpful Assists the Bookkeeper in maintaining accurate accounting systems Maintain records and filing systems Operates standard office equipment
Education:
Associate Degree in accounting or related field preferred Basic financial record keeping, bookkeeping and basic governmental accounting principles and practices
