Job Description
Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will support the organization's financial operations by managing accounting processes, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your expertise in non-profit accounting within a collaborative and growth-focused environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills, a passion for accuracy, and enthusiasm for contributing to the financial health of the organization. Duties Assist with general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accurate financial reporting. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections while maintaining precise records. Support payroll processing activities, verifying employee hours, deductions, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Utilize financial software such as QuickBooks Online, and other accounting systems to record transactions accurately and efficiently. Perform technical accounting tasks such as double-entry bookkeeping, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation to uphold accounting integrity. Qualifications Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles, preferably within corporate or non-profit sectors. Strong proficiency with accounting software including QuickBooks (especially QuickBooks Online). Solid understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, account reconciliation, and bank reconciliation. Experience with payroll processing and managing accounts payable/receivable functions. Excellent skills in spreadsheets (Excel or similar) for data analysis and report writing. Demonstrated ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting with precision. General clerical duties. Must be 21 years of age or older.
