Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk to join our fast paced automotive dealership. In this vital role, you will manage the company's accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our financial data, support compliance with accounting standards such as GAAP, and contribute to the overall health of our automotive operations. Responsibilities Process and verify invoices, expense reports, and payments using multiple financial software platforms. Manage accounts receivable by generating invoices, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts to ensure timely collection. Reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions with the general ledger to ensure accuracy in balance sheet accounts through account analysis and balance sheet reconciliation. Perform data entry with high accuracy into accounting systems while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial information. Assist in month-end closing activities including journal entries related to accounts payable/receivable and account reconciliation tasks. Collaborate with vendors and customers to resolve billing discrepancies or payment issues promptly. Utilize Excel data analysis skills for reporting purposes and improve efficiency in financial processes through spreadsheets and accounting software tools. Handle inquiries related to accounts payable/receivable from internal teams or external clients with professionalism and excellent customer service. Experience Proven experience in administrative, accounting, or finance roles with a focus on accounts payable and receivable management. Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) as well as governmental accounting standards if applicable. Experience working within public accounting environments or corporate accounting departments is highly desirable. Knowledge of technical accounting concepts including journal entries, double entry bookkeeping, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining high levels of accuracy in data entry and account reconciliation tasks. Excellent numeracy skills combined with strong math aptitude for account analysis and financial acumen.
