Visit our website for more company information: https://phoenixcds.org/ OVERVIEW The Accounts Receivable/Grants Specialist will play a critical role in managing the organization's financial activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and supporting strategic decision-making. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the financial sustainability and mission-driven work of our organization.JOB FUNCTIONS
Grant Accounting Assist with the financial administration of federal, state, and local grants. Coordinate receipt of awards and contract documentation. Maintain proposal and funding records electronically in systems or shared drives. Create and manage award/grant tracking work tags for new and renewal funding. Enter and monitor grant budgets in the system to ensure expenditures align with approved funding and compliance requirements. Maintain documentation to support grant expenditures for audit purposes. Accounts Receivable Process and record incoming payments (consumer accounts, third-party billings, other receivables). Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on delinquent accounts. Reconcile accounts receivable subledger to the general ledger. Assist in cash handling and daily deposits per policies. Maintain accurate records of receivable transactions and supporting documentation. Handle in-person payments, deposits, and preparing invoices/billing statements. Support month-end and year-end closing, journal entries, and account reconciliations. General Accounting Support Assist with audits, grant compliance reviews, and internal controls. Prepare and submit required financial reports and schedules (e.g., Schedule of Expenditure of Federal Awards). Support annual financial audits and grant compliance reviews. Other duties as assigned.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or equivalent Accounting based studies from an accredited university or college a plus Ability to be bonded and insured. Private and public sector grant experience Experience with accounting and billing software or systems Keyboarding and computer skills, especially Excel Finance or a related function with a non-profit organization and/or government agency. Strong knowledge of financial concepts, government or non-profit accounting, and compliance regulations Knowledge of the agency's programs, policies and procedures Ability to work quickly, independently and efficiently Valid Driver's License Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
