Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to manage our financial records and ensure accuracy across all accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, proficiency with various accounting software, and experience working within corporate, non-profit, or governmental accounting environments. This role involves maintaining general ledger accuracy, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports to support organizational decision-making. The Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and supporting the financial health of our organization. Duties Manage and maintain accurate financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms. Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation. Conduct bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure data integrity. Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently. Prepare and review financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and applicable financial regulations. Process payroll and manage related tax filings in accordance with governmental requirements. Assist with budgeting processes and provide financial analysis to support organizational planning. Maintain accurate records of debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and general ledger reconciliation tasks. Support tax preparation activities by organizing relevant documentation and records. Utilize technical accounting skills for complex transactions and account analysis as needed. Experience Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role within corporate, non-profit, or governmental sectors. Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, or comparable platforms is essential. Strong understanding of GAAP principles, financial concepts, and double-entry bookkeeping methods. Experience with bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, journal entries, and general ledger management. Familiarity with payroll processing and tax compliance procedures is preferred. Ability to perform detailed account analysis and prepare comprehensive financial reports. Knowledge of budgeting processes and financial report writing is advantageous. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks accurately under deadlines.
