This position works closely with project managers, project accounting staff, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure financial information is accurate, properly documented, and processed on schedule. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, responsive, and comfortable learning construction-specific accounting systems. Construction Accounts Payable Specialist Key Responsibilities Review vendor and subcontractor invoices for accuracy, proper coding, and project allocation. Enter and process invoices through the company's accounting system. Respond to vendor questions regarding invoices, payments, and account information. Assist with month-end and year-end accounting activities. Prepare account reconciliations and supporting analyses as needed. Process job cost corrections and adjustments to maintain accurate project records. Assist with monthly customer billing and related documentation. Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation. Work with project managers, project accountants, vendors, and subcontractors to resolve accounting issues. Research discrepancies and follow through to resolution. Support other accounting and administrative functions as assigned. Construction Accounts Payable Specialist Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. At least 1 year of accounts payable, accounting, construction accounting, or related experience; relevant internship experience may be considered. Construction industry experience preferred. Familiarity with job costing, project accounting, or subcontractor/vendor billing is a plus. Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word. Experience with construction project management or accounting software is preferred. Ability to quickly learn new financial and project management systems. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organization, prioritization, and follow-through. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Professional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while effectively supporting a project team.
