Job Description

Hobart Animal Clinic is looking for a positive, organized person to join our team as a Financial Assistant / Bookkeeper.
Goals :
Assist the Hobart Animal Clinic (HAC) Financial Manager with all financial issues affecting HAC. Communicate with Financial Manager and owners regarding financial situation at HAC. Duties will extend to finances of HAC's sister company, Crossroads Animal Hospital (CAH).
Key Qualities :
Accuracy, integrity, and communication. Financial Assistant needs to be accurate, ask questions when necessary, and take input from Financial Manager and ownership, and be a self-starter who can work independently, take initiative, and follow through on tasks with minimal supervision
Schedule:
This is a part-time position. Expected 20 to 30 hours per week. Schedule determined by Financial Manager and ownership of HAC.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain accounting records Maintain complete, accurate, and organized accounting records. Assist in month, quarter, and year-end closing activities including journal entries and reconciliations. Filing and other general office administration tasks. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and proactively identify and complete tasks. Accounts Payable Review and enter invoices into the accounting system. Match purchase orders and packing slips to invoices. Assist in payment processing in accordance with established procedures. Accounts Receivable Assist in receiving and posting payments in accordance with established procedures. Reconcile payments received daily. Prepare monthly statements. Process returned checks. Prepare documentation for collections. Reporting Assist in preparing financial reports and supporting calculations. Assist in compiling and submitting data to VMG.
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (Accounting bachelor's degree is preferred) Data entry knowledge/experience (QuickBooks is preferred) Proficient in the use of computers and Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel) Knowledge of basic accounting principles and strong math skills Ability to multi-task and prioritize numerous tasks and deadlines effectively High level of professionalism and confidentiality Attention to detail, organized, and accurate Positive, reliable, and trustworthy If you are a detail-oriented individual with a passion for numbers, we encourage you to apply for the Financial Assistant / Bookkeeper position.
