We acquire, develop, build, and manage multifamily, senior living, and industrial properties — and we do it with in-house teams: DF Development, Capital Markets, Forge Construction, Vector Design Group, DF Property Management. Because we build, own, and operate what we develop, our Accounting team touches the whole business. Construction draws, property operations, corporate overhead, and investor reporting all run through the same house. The Role We're looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to own invoice processing, vendor payments, and payables reconciliation across our corporate and divisional entities. This is a detail-driven seat with real breadth. You'll work across multiple legal entities and asset types, with a vendor base that ranges from national suppliers to local subcontractors. Mornings usually start in the invoice queue. Mid-week builds toward the check run. Month-end brings accruals and reconciliations on a firm deadline. In between, you're resolving vendor questions, tracking down a missing PO on a construction draw, and keeping documentation organized so audit season is uneventful. If you like owning a process end-to-end and being the person who catches what others miss, you'll do well here. What You'll Do Review, code, and process vendor invoices and employee expense reports across multiple entities, with accurate GL coding Match invoices to purchase orders, subcontracts, and contract terms; route for approval through established authorization workflows Verify that job-cost and property-level charges hit the correct entity, project, and cost code Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire requests on schedule and within internal controls Maintain vendor files, including W-9 collection, insurance certificate tracking, and vendor master data Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies, short pays, and billing disputes Serve as the day-to-day contact for vendor and internal inquiries on invoice and payment status Support month-end close, including AP accruals and account reconciliations Support annual 1099 preparation and filing, plus external audit and lender requests Find and fix the places where our AP process wastes time Requirements What You Bring High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience Proficiency with accounting or ERP software and Microsoft Excel Strong attention to detail in data entry, coding, and reconciliation Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines and entities Clear written and verbal communication for vendor and internal conversations High integrity and discretion with financial and vendor information Nice to Have Real estate, construction, or property management experience — job costing, subcontractor billing, or lien waivers Experience with Yardi, Sage, QuickBooks, or a comparable multi-entity platform Exposure to 1099 preparation and external audit support Experience across multiple legal entities or intercompany allocations Benefits Why Denton Floyd We're a growing, vertically integrated real estate company where the accounting function isn't back-office overhead — it's how deals close, projects get built, and properties stay profitable. You'll see the whole lifecycle from the inside, work directly with project and property teams, and have room to grow as the platform grows. Benefits Medical, dental, and vision coverage through UnitedHealthcare, administered by Insperity 401(k) with company match Paid time off plus company holidays Employee discount on rent at Denton Floyd-managed communities Ongoing training and career development within a growing organization Denton Floyd Real Estate Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
