Entry-Level Accounting Clerk Job Summary:
The Entry-Level Accounting Clerk provides support to the accounting department by performing routine clerical and financial tasks. This position is responsible for accurately entering financial information, processing invoices, maintaining records, and assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, dependable, and willing to learn.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Enter invoices, payments, receipts, and other financial information into accounting software. Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. Process and verify invoices, purchase orders, and payment documentation. Prepare deposits and record daily financial transactions. Reconcile bank statements and accounting records as directed. Maintain accurate and organized financial files and records. Assist with billing, collections, and customer account inquiries. Perform data entry and ensure information is entered accurately and timely. Assist with month-end and year-end accounting procedures. Prepare basic reports, spreadsheets, and correspondence. Respond to routine questions from customers, vendors, and employees. Protect confidential financial and company information. Perform other general office and accounting duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; accounting coursework or an associate degree is a plus. Previous accounting or office experience is helpful but not required. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Ability to learn accounting software and office procedures. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good organizational and time-management skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical/Work Requirements:
Primarily office-based work. Ability to sit, use a computer, and perform repetitive keyboarding for extended periods. Ability to read documents and financial information accurately. Occasional lifting of office supplies or files may be required. #PDTOP
