Job Description
We are looking for a dependable Accounting Specialist to join a long-established, family-owned business in Frankfort, Illinois. This contract opportunity has the potential to become permanent, is fully onsite, and offers the chance to support day-to-day accounting operations in a collaborative office setting. The ideal candidate brings practical experience with QuickBooks Online, communicates well with both internal staff and external accounting partners, and is eager to contribute across a range of financial and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including entering transactions, monitoring balances, and following up on outstanding items.
- Prepare invoices, process billing updates, and help ensure customer and vendor records remain accurate and current.
- Reconcile bank statements, account balances, and financial records to support accurate month-to-month reporting.
- Maintain accounting data in QuickBooks Online and assist with routine bookkeeping and general ledger-related tasks.
- Support compliance with internal financial procedures by organizing documentation and helping keep records audit-ready.
- Coordinate with external accountants and internal team members to address discrepancies, answer questions, and improve day-to-day workflow.
- Handle incoming office calls through a multi-line phone system and provide general administrative support as needed.
- Contribute to smooth office operations by adapting to changing priorities and assisting with additional accounting-related duties when required.
