CommCare Corporation is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist for our Eunice office! The Billing Specialist performs, with minimal supervision, a variety of routine tasks pertinent to monitoring the outcomes and processes of our nursing home operations focus on; financial performances and analysis and other general operational functions, all in accordance with the established policies, procedures and standards of CommCare Corporation, and any other tasks or responsibilities assigned. Essential Job Responsibilities Responsible for all facets of medical billing and accounts receivable management in a Healthcare Facility, working as part of a team of billers with assigned facilities. Knowledge of skilled nursing home payor types, such as Medicare Part A, Managed Medicare and Medicaid billing a must. Preferred knowledge of Point Click Care software with skilled nursing billing and posting system. Responsible for timely month end patient billing by working with computerized skilled nursing home A/R PCC system; entering accurate and correct census days, payor types, various ancillaries, and coordinating with our clinical team for any additional information required for prompt billing. Re-billing patients due to payor status changes. Complete understanding of Explanation of Benefit statements. Files Insurance appeals for denials in a timely fashion. Responsible for collections and communicating to the Revenue Cycle Manager along with the CFO and Controller any outstanding accounts. Answering routine inquires related to patient account balances and assist with good customer service between families and new admissions. Performs other tasks within the finance and accounting department as assigned. Perform general office duties such as filing, answering telephones, and handling routine correspondence, as needed. Qualifications Billing Specialist must have a high school diploma; preferably maintains a post high school degree or professional certification, preferably in Billing, Coding, Accounting, or Finance. Must have minimum one year billing or AR experience. Nursing home billing or Healthcare billing is preferred, but not required. Employee will receive on-the-job training regarding CommCare Corporation policies and procedures. Required Knowledge/ Skills Knowledge of basic medical terminology, insurance terminology and diagnosis codes. Knowledge of current changes in coding requirements from Medicare, Medicaid and other third-party payers. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, electronic mail, managing files and records and other office procedures. Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, statistics, and their applications. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Knowledge of Excel spreadsheet application. Ability to type and to use general office equipment; Ability to operate a computer using Windows Operating System. Ability to work well with the public. Ability to meet and deal with a variety of employees. Ability to communicate fluently, in English, verbally and written. Ability to demonstrate considerable initiative and judgment in promoting favorable public relations. Ability to be sociable, courteous and have a memory for details. Other Qualifications Has not been excluded from participating in Medicare and Medicaid programs. Maintains eligibility to participate in Medicare and Medicaid programs throughout employment. Maintains a professional appearance at all times. Keeps personal appearance appropriate for professional environment. Ability and willingness to function appropriately in a disaster or evacuation of the facility. Participate in pre-employment and annual Tuberculosis screening.
