Job Description

McNeese State University invites qualified applicants and nominations for the position of Assistant Professor of Accounting in the Department of Business Disciplines. This is a full-time, unclassified, 9-month, tenure-track position. The appointment begins in January 2027.

COLLEGE:
The College of Business programs are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB). The College currently offers a BS in Business Administration with majors in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Management, and Marketing; an MBA; and an undergraduate certificate in LNG Business.

The candidate must have outstanding teaching through classroom engagement and participation in a face-to-face environment. The candidate also needs to be proficient in online teaching. Teaching duties will include but are not limited to Intermediate I, Intermediate II, Accounting Theory, and Advanced Accounting. Advising students is also required. The candidate must contribute intellectually through publications in quality journals (as specified in ABDC and SJR) and collaborate with their fellow peers. A successful candidate must meet the College of Business criteria for Scholarly Academic (SA) status in accordance with AACSB standards. For the service component, the candidate will serve on committees at both the college and university level, be actively involved in college recruitment and the profession. Preference will be given to candidates possessing a terminal degree in accounting or related discipline. The successful candidate's research record should be in compliance with AACSB-International's standard on faculty qualifications. Applicants must hold SA status (Scholarly Academic) by the job start date. The successful candidate should demonstrate excellence in teaching, a commitment to intellectual contributions, and a desire to provide service to the university and the profession.
