Job Description

We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to support day-to-day financial operations for a contract position based in New Orleans, Louisiana. This role is well suited to someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing both payables and receivables in a fast-paced environment. The position will focus on accurate transaction handling, timely record maintenance, and dependable support for core accounting activities.
Responsibilities:
  • Process vendor invoices, verify supporting documentation, and prepare payments in accordance with established timelines.
  • Record incoming customer payments, apply cash receipts accurately, and maintain up-to-date accounts receivable balances.
  • Assist with daily deposit preparation and ensure all cash activity is entered correctly in financial records.
  • Perform high-volume data entry for accounting transactions while maintaining accuracy and consistency across systems.
  • Monitor outstanding balances, follow up on past-due accounts, and support collection efforts professionally.
  • Use accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, Sage 300, and invoice processing tools to maintain organized and reliable records.
  • Reconcile account activity, review discrepancies, and escalate issues when financial information does not align.
  • Support routine reporting and spreadsheet tracking by using Microsoft Excel to organize accounting data and summaries.
