Part-Time Construction Accounts Payable & Administrative Assistant Location:
Lunenburg, MA Schedule:
Monday-Thursday, mornings until approximately 1:00-2:00 PM; approximately 20-30 hours per week
Pay:
$24-$25 per hour to start, with flexibility based on experience

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Construction Accounts Payable and Administrative Assistant to support our daily office and accounting operations. This position does not require extensive bookkeeping or advanced accounting experience. The ideal candidate will have some previous accounts payable or invoicing experience, along with familiarity with the construction industry and commonly used construction equipment. This knowledge will be especially helpful when reviewing, coding, and entering vendor invoices. The right person will begin by handling essential accounts payable and administrative responsibilities. As they become comfortable in the role, there may be opportunities to cross-train in bank reconciliations, auditing support, and additional financial functions. What You'll Do Enter, code, process, and close accounts payable invoices Prepare and process vendor payments Assist with company credit card documentation and transactions Review invoices for construction materials, vehicles, equipment, and related expenses Process incoming and outgoing mail Scan, organize, and maintain office and financial documents Complete accurate and timely data entry Answer incoming telephone calls and assist or direct callers as needed Greet and assist occasional walk-in visitors Deposit checks at the bank, typically once per week Provide general reception and administrative support Assist with additional office and accounting tasks as needed What We're Looking For Previous experience working within the construction industry General familiarity with construction vehicles, tools, materials, and equipment Some experience with accounts payable, invoicing, bookkeeping support, or related data entry Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to remain focused and complete tasks independently Dependable, trustworthy, and comfortable handling confidential financial information Flexibility and willingness to assist wherever needed within a small-office environment Professional and courteous communication skills Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software is helpful but not required Experience with Foundation construction accounting software is a plus but not required; training can be provided Opportunity for Growth This position is temporary to start, with a strong possibility of becoming a long-term and potentially full-time opportunity for the right person. As responsibilities grow, the selected candidate may be cross-trained in bank reconciliations, auditing support, and additional accounting and financial functions. Compensation may also increase as the employee's knowledge and responsibilities expand.
