Job Description
Job Overview:
The Accounting Assistant supports the financial operations of the community by performing clerical and accounting tasks. These tasks may include entering invoices, paying bills, billing customers, managing petty cash and resident funds, filing and other administrative tasks as needed. This role ensures accurate recordkeeping and timely processing of financial transactions in compliance with community policies and applicable regulations.Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process bill payments in a timely manner.
- Generate and distribute resident/customer billing statements.
- Enter vendor invoices into the accounting system with accuracy.
- Receive and post resident/customer payments.
- Maintain and reconcile petty cash accounts.
- Manage resident funds, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state regulations.
- File and maintain financial and administrative records in an organized manner.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident and business information at all times.
- Support the Business Office Director with special projects as needed.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in accounting or business preferred.
- 3-5+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or clerical work.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic account software such as QuickBooks.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to ethical standards and confidentiality.
