We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our busy medical billing department. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of the healthcare revenue cycle and hands-on experience working insurance AR, claim denials, rejections, appeals, and complex billing issues.
Responsibilities include:
Manage and follow up on outstanding insurance AR, including aging and high-dollar accounts. Research and resolve claim denials, rejections, underpayments, and unpaid claims. Submit corrected claims, reconsiderations, and appeals and follow them through resolution. Review EOBs/ERAs and determine appropriate action on unpaid or denied claims. Research payer policies, claim status, filing limits, authorization requirements, and reimbursement issues. Identify and correct billing errors contributing to denials. Work with insurance companies, clearinghouses, and internal departments to resolve claim issues. Maintain accurate documentation of all AR activity and follow-up. Identify recurring denial trends and communicate issues to management. Prioritize accounts based on aging, dollar value, timely filing, and financial impact.
Qualifications:
3+ years of medical billing/insurance AR experience preferred. Strong experience with denials, rejections, appeals, and payer follow-up . Solid understanding of the healthcare revenue cycle. Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance. Ability to read and understand EOBs/ERAs and payer correspondence. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned AR. Ophthalmology/retina billing experience is a plus.
Pay:
$21.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
