Job Description

The Role We are seeking an organized, multi-tasking Bookkeeper to join our team. Unlike an in-house bookkeeping role, you will be managing the day-to-day financial records for a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries. You will work closely with our CPAs to ensure our clients' books are accurate and ready for tax preparation and tax planning. The ideal candidate is someone who loves variety, excels at context-switching between different client accounts, and enjoys helping small business owners understand their finances.
Key Responsibilities Client Bookkeeping:
Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for a dedicated portfolio of clients, ensuring all transactions are accurately categorized in a timely manner.
Reconciliations:
Perform monthly bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations for multiple client entities.
Month-End Close:
Prepare and process journal entries, adjust accruals, and finalize month-end close procedures for clients.
Tax Preparation Support:
Clean up client ledgers, tie out balance sheets, and prepare accurate workpapers to ensure a seamless handoff to our tax team for tax return preparation.
Client Communication:
Act as the primary bookkeeping contact for your clients. Proactively reach out to request missing documents, clarify ambiguous transactions, and answer basic financial questions.
Payroll & Compliance:
Process payroll for select clients using platforms like Gusto or ADP, and assist in preparing and filing local sales tax and 1099 reports.
Software Management:
Setup, onboard, and manage client files in QuickBooks Online and Xero.
Office Duties:
Help with various basic office duties.
Preferred Qualifications Experience:
3+ years of bookkeeping experience. (Experience working in a CPA firm, accounting practice, or bookkeeping agency managing multiple clients is highly preferred).
Software Proficiency:
Knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Xero.
Accounting Knowledge:
Strong understanding of basic accounting.
Professional Communication:
Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable speaking directly with business owners and maintaining a professional, helpful demeanor.
Pay:
$20.00 - $30.00 per hour
