Job Description
Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will manage a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance across financial records. Your expertise will support our organization's financial health by maintaining precise bookkeeping practices, reconciling accounts, and preparing essential financial reports. Responsibilities Maintain accurate general ledger accounting by recording journal entries, debits & credits, and processing transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, and other financial systems. Perform bank reconciliations and account analysis to ensure consistency and correctness of financial data. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently, including invoice processing and payment scheduling. Conduct balance sheet reconciliation regularly to verify asset, liability, and equity account balances align with supporting documentation. Process payroll accurately while adhering to payroll processing standards and governmental regulations. Prepare detailed financial reports by analyzing financial concepts, preparing spreadsheets, and writing clear financial summaries for management review. Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and accounting standards relevant to nonprofit or governmental accounting as applicable. Qualifications Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with a strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping principles. Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, and other financial software platforms. Solid knowledge of accounting concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis. Experience with payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable management, bank reconciliation, and budget tracking. Familiarity with governmental or nonprofit accounting practices is a plus but not required. Strong skills in spreadsheets (Excel or equivalent), 10-key typing for data entry accuracy, and financial report writing. Ability to interpret financial data clearly and communicate findings effectively to team members or stakeholders. Pay:
