Job Description

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a transportation equipment manufacturing organization in Kansas City, Missouri. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for someone who brings solid payables experience, strong Excel skills, and a careful approach to financial accuracy. The person in this role will support daily invoice processing, employee expense review, and card reconciliation while working closely with accounting processes tied to the general ledger.
Responsibilities:
  • Review supplier invoices against purchase orders and supporting records to confirm accuracy before processing payments.
  • Reconcile corporate credit card activity and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Audit and process employee expense submissions in accordance with company policies and approval requirements.
  • Record accounts payable transactions with attention to proper coding and alignment to the general ledger.
  • Use Excel tools such as PivotTables and VLOOKUP to organize data, research variances, and support reporting needs.
  • Partner with internal teams and vendors to clarify billing questions, missing documentation, and payment issues.
  • Maintain organized financial records and ensure accounts payable documentation is complete and audit-ready.
