Job Description
First State Bank is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist onsite at the West Clay location. If you have experience in a variety of standard accounting practices and administrative duties this may be a good fit for you! 40 hours per week. Full-Time benefits will apply, including; medical, dental and vision insurance, paid sick and vacation, 401k, ESOP and more!
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Accounts Payable Specialist will perform all duties required of this position by following policies and procedures set forth by First State Bank, including, but not limited to: Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment Sort and distribute incoming mail Process all payables requests by check or ACH Audit and process credit card bills Match invoices to checks, obtain all signatures for checks and distribute checks accordingly 1099 maintenance Correspond with vendors to establish payment methods and respond to inquiries Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices Complete departmental tasks that include but are not limited to tracking fixed assets and expenses, budget forecasting, etc. Keep track of credits owed to the company and ensure all credits are properly applied to vendor payments Responsible for paying all sales tax on appropriate invoices and making a note of each tax payment made Assist with wire transfer processing and correspondent bank account settlements (Money Desk) Create and submit reports to corresponding agencies Cross trains with other accounting duties Complete all required compliance training and complies with the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering Act as well as all regulations which apply within the scope of the position.Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Associate or bachelor's degree in the areas of Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance preferred.
