This position is primarily focused on keeping our books accurate and up to date, managing day-to-day accounting tasks, and helping maintain organized financial records. The ideal candidate has solid knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting practices, is comfortable working independently in QuickBooks , and understands the importance of accuracy when dealing with company finances. Construction or contractor accounting experience is a plus. This is a hands-on position for someone who knows bookkeeping, pays attention to the details, and can take ownership of the company's day-to-day accounting needs. Responsibilities Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting tasks using QuickBooks Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records Enter and categorize transactions correctly Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable Prepare and send customer invoices Record and track payments Reconcile bank and credit card accounts Review transactions and financial records for accuracy Track company expenses and receipts Maintain organized vendor and customer records Assist with monthly financial reporting and account reconciliations Help monitor outstanding invoices and customer balances Process bills and maintain accurate vendor records Maintain proper documentation for financial transactions Assist with payroll-related bookkeeping as needed Work with management, vendors, subcontractors, and customers regarding accounting and billing questions Maintain organized digital and paper financial files Help with job-related accounting and recordkeeping Assist with general office tasks when needed What We're Looking For Several years of bookkeeping or accounting experience Strong understanding of basic accounting and bookkeeping practices Strong QuickBooks experience Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable Experience with bank and credit card reconciliations Strong understanding of debits, credits, income, expenses, and account balances Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Strong organizational and time-management skills Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Good communication skills when working with customers, vendors, and subcontractors Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling financial information Preferred Experience Construction or contractor bookkeeping experience Experience with job costing Experience working with subcontractors and vendors Experience with payroll and payroll-related bookkeeping Experience preparing financial reports Experience handling multiple company accounts or entities Knowledge of construction accounting practices The Person We're Looking For We're looking for someone who knows bookkeeping and can take ownership of it . You should be comfortable looking at a set of books, recognizing when something doesn't look right, and figuring out what needs to be corrected. We don't need someone who simply enters numbers into QuickBooks. We want someone who understands why the numbers are being entered, how they affect the books, and how to keep the company's financial records accurate and organized . You should be dependable, detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, and willing to ask questions when something doesn't look right. Administrative and office duties will be part of the position, but the primary focus of this role will be bookkeeping and accounting .
