Job Description

Job Summary:
The A-P Specialist reports directly to the A-P Supervisor and is responsible for timely, appropriate and accurate vendor invoice payments. The A-P Specialist accurately processes and documents all routine vendor payments as they are made to ensure the information is readily available to internal customers. The A-P Specialist works with vendors and Forrest General Hospital (FGH) personnel to resolve issues and process payments in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
Education/Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Work Experience:
Two years' experience in accounts payable is preferred.

Mental ability to make numerical calculations and organizational ability. The following are the performance expectations for this position:

Demonstrate a proficient level of skill and/or knowledge in accounts payable. Knowledge and ability to use applicable information technology and systems to meet work needs.

Accounts Payable Processing:
Description:
Collect payable documents and assess accuracy and integrity; process for payment.

Compile, monitor, examine and review various payable documents for accuracy, integrity and conformance to accepted payable guidelines. Prepare vendor payments. Recognize and research unusual activity for further investigation. Understand and adhere to systems of internal control.

Ability to understand issues, identify problems and opportunities to determine the appropriate course of action.
