Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will help support the organization's financial health and operational efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with QuickBooks while contributing to the overall success of our organization. Responsibilities Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including data entry, journal entries, and ledger maintenance using accounting software such as QuickBooks. Perform bank reconciliations regularly to ensure accuracy between bank statements and internal records. Process payroll accurately and efficiently while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment tracking. Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare financial reports in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Maintain detailed records of financial transactions, including debits & credits, account analysis, and journal entries. Assist with financial report writing, balance sheet reconciliation, and ensuring adherence to accounting standards across governmental or non-profit sectors as applicable. Skills Extensive experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks. Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, governmental accounting practices, and non-profit accounting standards. Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets), 10 key typing skills, and data analysis for accurate account reconciliation. Knowledge of double entry bookkeeping, general ledger accounting, account analysis, and journal entry posting. Ability to perform bank reconciliations, account reconciliation tasks, and balance sheet reconciliation efficiently. Experience with payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable management, and financial report writing. Familiarity with GAAP standards and technical accounting concepts to ensure compliance across all financial activities.
