Job Description

Position Summary The Accounting Assistant supports the daily financial operations of Brunswick Family Assistance by processing donations, preparing and delivering bank deposits, assisting with client assistance payments, and supporting accounts payable functions. This role plays an important part in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring donor and vendor transactions are handled promptly and securely. The Accounting Assistant works closely with and reports to the Accounting & HR Manager. Key Responsibilities Donation & Deposit Processing Process incoming donations accurately and in a timely manner, including recording donor information as required. Input donations into our CRM (Bloomerang). Assemble bank deposits, ensuring all funds and documentation are accounted for and properly reconciled. Transport and deliver deposits to the bank on a regular basis. Client Assistance Support Assist with processing client assistance payments in accordance with BFA policies and procedures. Maintain accurate documentation related to client assistance disbursements. Accounts Payable Input accounts payable invoices into QuickBooks monthly. Issue checks through QuickBooks for approved payments and disbursements. Support the Accounting & HR Manager with other accounting tasks and special projects as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Accounting or related field preferred. Prior experience in bookkeeping, accounting support, or a similar administrative/financial role preferred. Experience with QuickBooks or comparable accounting software is strongly preferred. Experience with a CRM, preferably Bloomerang, is prefferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Reliable transportation for bank deposits and post office runs. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 24.0 per week
