Cohesion Phenomics Rutherfordton, NC Part-time | Approximately 20-25 hours per week $22

•25 per hour Job Summary Cohesion Phenomics, an independent molecular diagnostics laboratory specializing in cardiovascular genetic testing, is seeking a highly organized and persistent Part-Time Revenue Cycle & Accounts Receivable Specialist . This position manages the laboratory's revenue-cycle workflow from insurance benefits and eligibility verification through claim resolution and payment. Molecular diagnostic reimbursement can be complex and often requires investigation, problem-solving and consistent follow-through. This is not a claim-entry position. The successful candidate will be comfortable investigating why an account has not progressed, determining the appropriate next action, documenting findings, and following the account through resolution. Previous molecular diagnostic billing experience is not required . A 2 week training in our genetic-testing revenue-cycle workflow will be provided. Responsibilities Insurance Benefits, Eligibility & Prior Authorization Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits for genetic testing Determine applicable deductibles, coinsurance and other patient financial responsibility Identify payer-specific coverage and prior authorization requirements Determine whether laboratory benefit managers or other third-party authorization processes apply Submit and track prior authorization requests when required Follow up on pending authorizations and obtain additional documentation when necessary Maintain accurate documentation of benefits investigations and authorization status Communicate with patients, providers and laboratory staff regarding insurance or authorization requirements Claims & Accounts Receivable Prepare, submit and track insurance claims for laboratory services Monitor accounts receivable and work aging reports consistently Follow claims from submission through payment or final resolution Communicate with commercial and government payers regarding outstanding claims Investigate unpaid, delayed, rejected and denied claims Review EOBs and ERAs and identify reimbursement discrepancies Prepare corrected claims, reconsiderations and appeals when appropriate Research payer requirements and coverage issues affecting reimbursement Post and reconcile insurance and patient payments Identify underpayments and other payment discrepancies Maintain detailed documentation of payer communications, actions and follow-up dates Provide regular reports on A/R aging, collections, denials and unresolved accounts Identify recurring reimbursement problems and escalate patterns to laboratory leadership Qualifications Experience in accounts receivable, insurance claims, financial operations, healthcare administration, laboratory operations or another detail-intensive administrative environment is preferred. Candidate must be extremely organized and proficient in Microsoft Excel. Previous molecular diagnostics or genetic-testing billing experience is helpful but not required . We are particularly interested in candidates who: Enjoy investigating and resolving problems Are persistent when an issue requires multiple follow-ups Can learn complex processes and payer requirements Maintain detailed and accurate records Can manage multiple open accounts and follow-up dates simultaneously Recognize when something does not make sense and investigate rather than simply moving to the next task Communicate professionally with insurance companies, patients and healthcare providers Work independently while knowing when an issue requires escalation Are comfortable being accountable for measurable results What Success Looks Like Success is not measured simply by the number of claims processed. The person in this position is expected to maintain an organized revenue-cycle workflow, complete follow-up when required, identify stalled accounts, document actions clearly and consistently move outstanding accounts toward resolution. Schedule Approximately 20-25 hours per week with a consistent weekly schedule. Daily work from 8 am onwards On-site position in Rutherfordton, North Carolina. Compensation $22
