BOOKKEEPER

\nEast Alexander Middle School 12-month position\nAvailable immediately\nGeneral Statement of Job\nResponsibilities include receipting payments, requesting purchase orders, preparing financial reports and maintaining accounting records and processing payroll records. Also provides general clerical support in the school office.\nRequired Qualifications\nAssociate Degree or higher, preferred, or strong related experience.\nApplicant must hold a valid NC state driver's license.\nApplicant must be eligible to obtain a CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements. If an employee is unable to obtain a CDL with P/S endorsements for any reason, this could result in recommendation for dismissal.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nMaintain and process all purchase order requisitions using the LINQ system.\nMaintain all local, state, and school accounts.\nReconcile all state and local accounts to the LINQ Spreadsheets.\nMaintain absences of all school employees using the substitute calling system\nEnter absences of all school employees on the Timekeeper/LINQ system, edit absence reports.\nMaintain and process hourly employee timesheets.\nProcess all accounts payables and receivables.\nReconcile school bank account.\nCollect and receipt money that comes in from fundraisers, athletic games, dances and other activities.\nMake daily bank deposits.\nProcess end of year reports for auditing purposes.\nMaintain school vendor list.\nCoordinate and schedule repairs for office equipment.\nAdditional Duties\nPerforms other related tasks as assigned by the principal and/or assistant principal.\nMust be willing to drive a daily bus route or substitute for a driver when requested by the principal or designee.\nEssential Knowledge and Abilities\nStrong computer skills.\nSound knowledge of bookkeeping practices.\nWillingness to learn new skills.\nMust be able to perform duties with accuracy and under minimal supervision.\nProfessionalism and ability to assure confidentiality regarding all matters and information.\nRequires the ability to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, to follow oral and written instructions.\nMust be able to communicate effectively and efficiently.\nMust have strong interpersonal skills and requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions.\nAbility to perform all basic office functions and must be able to use a variety of equipment and classroom tools such as computers, copiers, calculators, pencils, scissors, etc.\nMust be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally; and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.\nThe abilities described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
