BOOKKEEPER
We are seeking an experienced, organized, and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day accounting and financial recordkeeping for two affiliated, growing companies in the construction and manufacturing industries . This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable working independently, understands the importance of accurate job and company financials, and can keep multiple entities, projects, vendors, and transactions organized. Responsibilities Maintain accurate books for two separate business entities Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable Enter and categorize expenses, bills, deposits, and credit card transactions Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts Prepare and send customer invoices and monitor outstanding receivables Process vendor bills and coordinate payments Maintain accurate customer and vendor records Assist with payroll-related accounting and recordkeeping Track expenses and revenue by project/job Maintain proper allocation of transactions between companies Record and reconcile intercompany transactions when applicable Assist with purchase orders, customer deposits, progress billing, and other construction/manufacturing accounting activities Review financial records for errors, inconsistencies, or missing documentation Maintain organized digital accounting records and supporting documentation Prepare routine financial reports for management Assist management with job costing, profitability analysis, cash-flow tracking, and budgeting Coordinate with the company's CPA/accountant as needed for tax filings, year-end close, and other accounting matters Help improve bookkeeping procedures and internal financial controls as the companies continue to grow Qualifications Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience required Strong knowledge of QuickBooks required Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage accounting for multiple companies or business units Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to work independently and follow transactions through to completion Comfortable communicating with vendors, customers, employees, and management Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general office software Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling financial and employee information Preferred Experience Experience in any of the following is especially valuable: Multi-company bookkeeping QuickBooks Online Job costing AP/AR Progress billing Purchase orders Inventory or material purchasing Payroll Construction accounting Manufacturing accounting What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who does more than simply enter transactions. Compensation:
