Founded in 2014, we aggregate and deliver a wide range of locally sourced products—including meat, produce, dairy, and specialty items—making it easier for small producers to reach markets while providing customers with convenient access to regional foods. Position Summary The In-House Bookkeeper is responsible for managing the day-to-day financial processes of the company. This role ensures accurate financial records, timely invoicing and collections, and reliable reporting to support business decisions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable handling a wide range of accounting tasks in a small team environment. Key Responsibilities 1. Data Entry & General Bookkeeping Record financial transactions (sales, purchases, expenses, deposits) in Quickbooks Online Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in accounting software Organize and file financial documents (digital and/or paper) 2. Accounts Receivable (A/R) Generate and send customer invoices Apply incoming payments (checks, ACH, credit cards) Monitor aging reports and track outstanding balances Communicate with customers regarding billing questions 3. Collections Follow up on past-due accounts via phone and email Maintain professional customer relationships while enforcing payment terms Escalate chronic delinquent accounts to management as needed 4. Bank & Account Reconciliation Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations Reconcile accounts receivable and other balance sheet accounts Identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner 5. Financial Reporting Prepare monthly financial reports (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, A/R Aging) Assist in basic cash flow tracking and forecasting Provide financial summaries and insights to ownership/management 7. Miscellaneous Financial Activities Assist with budgeting and expense tracking Support year-end closing and coordination with CPA or tax preparer Help maintain compliance with basic accounting policies and procedures Participate in process improvements and system organization Qualifications 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (small business preferred) Proficiency in Quickbooks Online Strong Excel/spreadsheet skills High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Strong communication skills, especially for collections and customer interactions Success in This Role Looks Like Clean, accurate books with minimal errors Timely invoicing and improved cash collections Clear, consistent financial reporting each month Organized financial records ready for tax and audit support
