Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented bookkeeping and payroll professional to join our private medical practice. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the organization's financial records, ensuring accuracy in bookkeeping, and processing payroll efficiently. Responsibilities Manage daily bookkeeping activities including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries using Sage50 (Peachtree). Process payroll accurately and on schedule, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Prepare journal entries, conduct account reconciliation, and ensure proper debits & credits are recorded in the double-entry bookkeeping system. Assist with budgeting processes and financial report writing to support organizational planning and decision-making. Maintain detailed records of all financial transactions, including tax documentation and governmental reporting requirements. Support internal audits by providing necessary documentation and ensuring adherence to accounting standards and policies. Skills Experience with Sage50 or other similar accounting software required. Strong knowledge of corporate accounting principles and governmental accounting standards. Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) preferred. Solid understanding of GAAP, double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, bank reconciliation, and account reconciliation processes. Ability to interpret financial concepts clearly. Excellent attention to detail with 10 key typing skills for accurate data entry; strong organizational skills for managing multiple accounts simultaneously. Knowledge of governmental accounting procedures and experience working within a medical office setting is advantageous.
