Job Description

Responsibilities include creating financial reports and administering payroll, payables, receivables, and preparing cash-flow analyses, and working with the Town Administrator, Town officials, Department Heads, and contractors on budgetary issues. The position requires the ability to exercise mature judgement and to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Governmental Accounting Standards Board recommendations (GASB), Federal and State regulations, and Town Ordinances as they pertain to local government accounting and financial reporting. The successful candidate must possess at least three (3) years of responsible experience in municipal governmental finance and accounting. An Associates or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major study in accounting, business administration or a related field is a plus. Must also have demonstrated knowledge of integrated computer accounting systems, general ledger maintenance and analysis, and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office suites, especially Excel and Word. Experience with MTS Financial Software desirable.
