Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll Bookkeeper to join our finance team! In this vital role, you will manage payroll processing, ensure accurate financial record-keeping, and support various accounting functions. Your expertise will help streamline payroll operations, maintain compliance with financial regulations, and contribute to the overall efficiency of our accounting processes. Duties Process payroll using industry-standard software such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, or UltiPro, ensuring timely and accurate payments for all employees and contractors Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts related to payroll, benefits administration, and other financial transactions Perform data entry for payroll records, employee benefits, tax filings, and journal entries with precision and attention to detail Manage accounts payable and receivable functions related to payroll expenses and vendor payments Conduct account reconciliations, including double entry bookkeeping and general ledger reconciliation, to ensure financial accuracy Assist with benefits administration tasks such as enrollment updates, leave tracking, and compliance documentation Support governmental accounting requirements by preparing reports related to tax filings and other regulatory submissions Qualifications Proven experience with payroll management using systems like Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos or Ceridian Strong knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar platforms Familiarity with corporate accounting principles including debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger accounting Understanding of HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and time-tracking systems like Kronos or UltiPro Knowledge of non-profit or governmental accounting practices is a plus Excellent analysis skills for account reconciliation and financial data review Proficiency in 10 key typing and double entry bookkeeping techniques Ability to perform detailed data entry accurately in fast-paced environments Strong understanding of tax regulations related to payroll and benefits administration Effective communication skills to collaborate with HR teams and external vendors Join us in a role where your expertise in payroll bookkeeping will drive operational excellence!
