Our ophthalmology practice provides quality services including cataract, glaucoma, occuloplastic and LASIK surgery, advanced technology lens implants (IOL), diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy & dry eye, as well as routine eye exams. We are seeking a full-time Billing Specialist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
Daily tasks include generation and submission of claims, posting payments and submitting remittances, eligibility verification, collections, accounts receivable follow-up, acquiring prior authorization from insurances, and insurance appeals. Check and report the claim status of all unpaid account balances. Perform follow-up of unpaid balances, including correcting and resubmitting unpaid claims to insurance for reprocessing. Respond to questions regarding patient account balances. Monitor aged accounts receivable reports, performing follow-up, and making adjustments to patient accounts. Prepare analysis of Individual volumes, denial, and reimbursement activity. Other Duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of and prior experience in ophthalmology and optometry billing CPT, ICD-10, modifiers Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to confidently speak to patients Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks throughout the day Ability to communicate and work well with others in the office
