Job Description
Position Summary The Accounting Clerk supports the Accounting Manager by handling the day-to-day execution and administrative work of accounts receivable and accounts payable at the direction of the Accounting Manager. Responsibilities
- Contact customers by phone and email on past due balances once the Accounting Manager confirms collection is needed
- Accept and document customer payments by phone, payment portal and ACH
- Track payment commitments and follow up when they are not met
- Escalate disputes, short payments and hardship requests to the Accounting Manager rather than negotiating terms
- Proof vendor invoices and supporting paperwork against purchase orders and receiving documents
- Enter approved vendor payments
- Maintain accounts payable files for multiple entities and route items requiring approval to the Accounting Manager
- Maintain the daily shop attendance calendar, including out, leaves early and remote entries and corrections
- Scan, name and file documents, including employee identification
- Prepare and distribute copies of forms needed in the office and the warehouse
- Order and stock office supplies
- Provide general administrative support to the Accounting Manager as assigned Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience in an accounts payable or accounts receivable support role
- Comfortable making collection calls and asking customers for payment
- Accurate and detail oriented with invoice matching and data entry
- Proficient in Excel and Outlook
- Strong organizational skills with both physical and electronic filing
- Able to handle customer and employee financial information discreetly
- High school diploma required, associate degree in accounting or business a plus
Pay:
$25.00- $30.
