Magyar Bank, a leader in the community banking sector, is searching for qualified candidates to join our Finance team in the Central New Jersey area as Accounting Clerk The Accounting Clerk will reconcile Bank balances to the general ledger. Research discrepancies. Process Accounts payable entries and checks. This role will also assist with account research and audits.

Essential Functions:

Reconciles financial institution balances to the general ledger Reconciles general ledger accounts and researches discrepancies Provides general accounting support to other departments as necessary Processes Accounts Payable entries and checks Back up Finance Staff as needed Assists with account research and audits as necessary Maintains Sales Tax Expenditure worksheet for reimbursement under UEZ program Special Projects as needed Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent required. College level accounting/finance courses required. 2-4 years related accounting experience desired Good knowledge of accounting principles, as well as good analytical, verbal, mathematical and written communication skills Computer literate, including knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and internet search Must be detail-oriented with excellent follow-up skills and the ability to multi-task Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management Ability to work independently Magyar Bank offers competitive salary and comprehensive benefit package, which include medical, dental, life insurance and 401k.

Salary Range:
