Full Job Description Summary of Position:
The Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist is responsible for managing customer accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices and maintaining accurate financial records. This role requires strong verbal communication and negotiation skills to effectively collect outstanding balances, resolve disputes and establish payment arrangements through direct customer contact. The ideal candidate will have experience working with a vast portfolio of business relationships, possess exceptional attention to detail and demonstrate the ability to balance collection objectives while maintaining positive customer relationships.
Responsibilities:
Conduct high-volume outbound collection calls and negotiate payment resolutions with customers. Maintain customer relationships and manage customer accounts. Investigate and resolve payment disputes, deduction issues and account discrepancies. Monitor customer payment trends and identify potential collection risks. Ensure accurate documentation of customer communications, payment commitments and collection activities within the ERP system. Work with the Sales Department to ensure AR activities are compliant with established protocol. Provide reporting to the Collections Supervisor. Assist with year-end audits. Other duties as assigned by the Collections Supervisor.
Minimum Requirements:
Education
  • Associates Degree or equivalent. Experience
  • At least three years of relevant Accounts Receivable, Collections, Credit or related accounting experience. Negotiation Skills
  • Demonstrated success negotiating payment arrangements and resolving collection issues through direct customer phone contact. Work ethic
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting critical deadlines. Negotiation Skills

Technical:
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook. Experience with an Microsoft Dynamics Business Central a plus.
Teamwork:
