Job Description
About us Maddie's Motor Sports is the leading powersports and motorcycle dealership group in western New York. Since 2012 we have grown from one location in Dansville, NY to 5 rooftops across the region. We carry brands such as Polaris, Can-Am, Ski-Doo, Indian Motorcycle, Slingshot, Yamaha, and many more.
Responsibilities:
Review, verify, and accurately post vendor invoices into the accounting system. Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents where applicable. Reconcile monthly vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner. Prepare and process checks for payment, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement. Refund Processing for customers Maintain vendor files and ensure records are organized and up to date. Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive vendor relationships. Assist the Controller with month-end closing tasks and other accounting projects as needed. Provide support to other accounting staff and departments as assigned.Supporting Functions:
Responding to inquiries from vendors and internal staff related to invoices and payments. Assisting with monthly and quarterly audits. Maintaining knowledge of accounting principles and procedures to help with multi store questions and concerns.Essential Skills:

Entering inventory in the system timely, making and filing deal jackets Help assisting in transfers to other stores or dealerships Auditing and verifying each stores daily Cash Reconciliations Breakdown deals- Auditing for compliance and verifying all documents are signed, purchase and reconcile warranty payments, bills of sales, and bank contracts Upload coupons and rebates if needed Assist with out of state paperwork deals
Experience:
- Previous experience working in an accounting role or related field
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero)
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial concepts
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in corporate accounting.
