The East Syracuse Minoa Central School District (ESM CSD) is seeking a dynamic and highly organized individual to join our Technology Department as an Account Clerk II . This is a critical, full-time provisional appointment responsible for managing the essential business and administrative functions that keep our fleet running safely and efficiently. Note:
This is a provisional appointment . The successful candidate must take and pass a competitive Civil Service exam for the Account Clerk II title when it is offered to secure permanent status.
Key Responsibilities Fiscal Management:
Track and monitor budgetary accounts, initiating requisitions in the financial software for all goods and services needed to maintain the fleet.
Inventory & Assets:
Prepare accurate monthly fuel inventory reconciliations . Assist in maintaining the records for the department's parts and supplies inventory.
Compliance & Claims:
Process claims for payment against the appropriate budgetary codes, strictly adhering to district financial guidelines and ensuring fiscal responsibility.
Data Integrity:
Reconcile complex transportation, financial, and student data across multiple systems , ensuring accurate data entry and reporting.
Payroll Support:
Compile and verify essential information for the accurate and timely processing of the bi-weekly payroll for department staff.
Budget Support:
Compile critical figures, statistics, and supporting documentation for the annual department budget preparation . Minimum Qualifications We are looking for candidates who possess a demonstrated background in accounting or bookkeeping. A candidate must meet one of the following criteria: A. Two (2) years of account keeping work experience (or part-time equivalent) where the primary function involved financial account maintenance, including reconciling and posting to ledgers, journals, or other accounting records; OR B. Successful completion of 12 semester credit hours in accounting or an Associate's Degree in Accounting from a regionally accredited college, university, or business school; OR C. An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B).
