Position Overview The Account Services Clerk - A/R is responsible for processing accounts receivable transactions, including posting payments, reconciling customer accounts, and resolving billing issues in accordance with company policies. This position plays a key role in ensuring timely and accurate cash application and effective customer communication, utilizing the Hardinge Inc. ERP system, currently JD Edwards. Key Responsibilities Process incoming customer payments via check, ACH, and wire transfer. Apply payments accurately to customer accounts and invoices. Monitor aging reports and follow up on past-due accounts. Communicate with customers regarding invoice discrepancies or payment issues. Research and resolve short payments, chargebacks, and unapplied cash. Issue credit memos and customer statements as necessary. Coordinate with sales and customer service teams to resolve billing concerns. Assist with audits and internal reporting as requested. Complete other projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications Education:
High School Diploma required; Associate Degree in a related field preferred.
Skills & Requirements:
One to three years of experience in an accounting or finance setting preferred. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with an ERP system required; JD Edwards experience preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication skills, especially in a customer-facing capacity. Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
