Purchase, NY Job Details Part-time $25.00 - $27.50 an hour 15 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Food provided Qualifications Customer communication Full Job Description A well-established Japanese educational institution in Westchester County, NY is seeking a Japanese Bilingual Accounts Receivable Assistant to support its accounting team. This is a Temp-to-Hire opportunity with the potential to transition into a permanent part-time position after approximately six months. This role is ideal for candidates with accounting assistant or accounts receivable experience who enjoy detail-oriented work in a collaborative educational environment.

Hours:
25-30 hours/week (Training period may require up to 35 hours/week)
Pay:
$25-26/hour (Up to 27.50/hour for highly qualified candidates) Key Responsibilities Process accounts receivable transactions, including payment posting, reconciliation, and collections Manage tuition, dormitory fees, deposits, donations, housing fees, and other incoming payments Prepare invoices, receipts, and monthly account statements Maintain and reconcile student deposit accounts Assist with monthly bank reconciliations Prepare documentation for audits and tax-related reporting Coordinate accounting-related documentation with internal departments Maintain accounting records using Financial Edge (training provided if needed) Support general administrative and accounting functions as assigned Qualifications 1+ years of accounting, accounts receivable, or accounting assistant experience Business-level Japanese and English communication skills Experience communicating professionally via email with clients or customers Strong attention to detail and accuracy Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Experience with accounting software (Financial Edge experience is a plus, but not required) Ability to commute to Purchase, NY (driving is strongly preferred) Why You'll Like This Opportunity Temp-to-Hire position with the opportunity to become a permanent employee Flexible work schedule within regular business hours (9:00 AM-5:00 PM) Free cafeteria lunch during the academic year Stable, collaborative work environment supporting an educational institution This job description is provided as a sample and may be modified based on the client's hiring needs.
