Job Description

Accounting Clerk I Job Summary Follow detailed and standardized procedures in performing routine accounting clerical operations. Perform a variety of support duties related to the accounting function within the credit union. General Accountabilities SCFCU expects regular attendance and punctuality. This means being in the workplace, ready to work, at your scheduled start time each day and completing your entire shift. Employees are also expected to return from scheduled meal and break periods on time. Perform a variety of activities to assist the CFO/Accounting Lead in maintaining the financial, statistical, and accounting records of the Credit Union. Enter data into accounting systems and generate daily reports. Prepare various financial, regulatory, and special reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis as requested by Management. Process/Research share draft returns and ACH exceptions (i.e.: encoding errors, late returns, and other problems) Post general ledger entries, and proof totals with the general ledger system. File and store general ledger journals daily. Maintain and process wire transfer funds, verifying incoming/outgoing wires, approval of incoming/outgoing wire transfer funds. Reconcile various general ledger accounts. Responsible for daily Electronic Funds Transactions and network balancing Maintain working knowledge of various accounting software programs. Order supplies and maintain inventory for branches. Check scanning for Lakewood branch. Maintain escrow accounts. File, maintain, and report lien status to Management Post payroll for various organizations. Maintain and report incentive programs to staff. Prepare various tracking reports for department heads. Assists members in EFT related issues. Paying Credit Union bills. Receiving Credit Union payments. Assist members with Debit Card issues. Assist in maintaining the Debit Card system.
