Job Description

Accounts Payable Specialist Target Start Date:
9/21 or sooner
Schedule:
M-F, 9am - 5pm Position begins as a temporary associate through Partnership Employment The Accounts Payable Specialist manages daily A/P transactions, including employee reimbursements, vendor payments, ACH/wire payments, stop-payments, and journal vouchers. This role reconciles employee advance accounts, coordinates emergency and rush checks, processes student refunds, and serves as a key liaison with Purchasing to monitor invoices and resolve discrepancies. Key Responsibilities Process high-volume A/P transactions and ensure accurate, timely data entry and account classification. Reconcile employee advances, vendor statements, credit memos, and invoice discrepancies. Prepare journal vouchers and vendor chargebacks as needed. Coordinate student refund checks and emergency/rush check requests. Respond to vendor and internal inquiries with excellent customer service and sound judgment. Partner with Purchasing, Finance Systems, and IT to resolve issues and support system updates. Assist with process improvements and train staff or internal users as needed. Qualifications Associate's degree in Accounting or related field, or 3+ years of A/P or bookkeeping experience. Strong communication, customer service, organizational, and multitasking skills in a high-volume environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Banner is a plus.
