Job Description:
We are seeking a detail?oriented Construction Accounting Clerk to support the financial operations of a busy construction management firm. This position works closely with project managers, vendors, and internal accounting staff to ensure accurate job cost tracking, project budgets, and financial reporting. This role is best suited for a team?oriented professional with construction accounting experience who is comfortable working in a fast?paced, deadline?driven environment. Key Responsibilities Review vendor and subcontractor invoices for accuracy, proper coding, and compliance with company policies Reconcile vendor statements and company credit card statements Maintain accurate job cost records, project budgets, and cost reports Assist in preparing monthly financial reports, including job summaries and project budget reports Work within Sage accounting software to support accounts payable, job cost reporting, and reconciliations Assist with AIA pay applications, lien waivers, and payment documentation Support month?end and year?end closeout procedures Maintain organized accounting and project documentation Assist with audits, insurance reporting, and compliance documentation as needed Support payroll?related reporting; experience with certified payroll and prevailing wage projects is a plus Qualifications Construction accounting experience strongly preferred 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience Experience using Sage accounting software (or similar construction accounting platforms) Understanding of job cost accounting and project budgets Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Proficient with Microsoft Excel and general office software Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with vendors and internal teams Proven team player who can collaborate across departments Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Stable, growing construction management firm Collaborative, team?oriented office environment Exposure to commercial and public construction projects Full benefits package including 401K (details discussed during interview)
