Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team and support our financial operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage essential accounting functions, maintain accurate financial records, and ensure compliance with accounting standards. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of our financial data while working flexible hours that fit your schedule. Your expertise will help us streamline processes, prepare detailed financial reports, and contribute to the overall health of our organization's finances. Responsibilities Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms. Record and reconcile bank transactions through bank reconciliation procedures to ensure accuracy. Prepare and post journal entries, including debits & credits, to maintain the general ledger in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently, ensuring timely payments and collections. Perform balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to verify financial accuracy and identify discrepancies. Assist with payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations. Support budgeting activities by maintaining accurate records and assisting in financial report writing for internal review. Qualifications Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in an accounting role, preferably within public or non-profit accounting environments. Strong proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, or similar systems. Solid understanding of accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, debits & credits, and general ledger reconciliation. Experience with spreadsheets and financial data analysis to support accurate reporting. Knowledge of GAAP standards and familiarity with financial concepts related to balance sheets, income statements, and account reconciliation. Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Ability to communicate clearly about financial data and collaborate effectively within a team.
