Job Summary We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Payment Poster to join our billing team. This position will be responsible for accurately posting insurance and patient payments, reconciling electronic and paper remittances, reviewing account balances, and identifying discrepancies to support accurate revenue cycle management. We are looking for someone who is organized, dependable, productive, and able to maintain a high level of accuracy while processing a large volume of payments and adjustments. Responsibilities Accurately post insurance, patient, and electronic payments to patient accounts Post payments from Electronic Remittance Advices (ERAs), Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), electronic funds transfers (EFTs), lockbox deposits, checks, and credit card transactions Apply payments, contractual adjustments, deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, denials, and other adjustments according to payer remittance information Ensure payments are posted to the correct patient, account, date of service, procedure, and payer Balance daily payment batches and reconcile posted payments to deposits and remittance totals Identify and resolve posting discrepancies, unapplied payments, credit balances, and payment variances Transfer balances to patient responsibility accurately and in accordance with payer guidelines Post refunds, recoupments, takebacks, and other financial transactions as directed Qualifications Minimum 2 years of medical billing or payment posting experience required Experience posting insurance and patient payments required Experience working with ERAs, EOBs, EFTs, and electronic payment systems Orthopedic billing experience strongly preferred Strong understanding of insurance payments, contractual adjustments, deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, and patient responsibility Excellent organization and time-management skills Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment Experience with medical billing software and electronic payment systems preferred This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong payment posting experience who enjoys working with remittance information, reconciling accounts, and supporting a busy, collaborative medical billing team.

Pay:

$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
