In this vital role, you will support the organization's financial operations by managing data entry, account reconciliation, and maintaining accurate financial records. Your expertise in accounting software and systems will ensure seamless processing of transactions, adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and compliance with internal controls such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act). This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your accounting skills within a collaborative environment that values accuracy, efficiency, and integrity. Responsibilities Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions using financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Workday. Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and integrity. Process journal entries, including debits & credits, ensuring compliance with GAAP and corporate accounting standards. Manage invoice processing, payment scheduling, and vendor communications through systems like Paychex, ADP, Ceridian, or UltiPro. Support month-end closing activities by assisting with account analysis, account reconciliation, and financial data analysis using Excel data analysis tools and spreadsheets. Handle confidential information with discretion while maintaining meticulous records in accordance with SOX controls. Assist in governmental accounting tasks as needed and support internal audits by providing relevant documentation. Qualifications Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles with a strong understanding of accounting concepts such as double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and general ledger accounting. Familiarity with financial software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar systems; experience with Workday or Kronos is a plus. Knowledge of GAAP standards and SOX compliance procedures. Strong numeracy skills coupled with excellent attention to detail for account analysis and reconciliation tasks. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications—especially Excel—for data analysis and spreadsheet management. Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills for customer service interactions with vendors and internal teams. #NIT010
Pay:
Up to $18.00 per hour
