Dental, vision and supplemental life insurance OPERS retirement Vacation and sick leave The City of Kettering's Finance Team is currently seeking a Regular Part-Time Tax Clerk. If you would like to play a vital role in supporting the Tax Division of the Finance Department, we want to hear from you! You will have the opportunity to: Answer general telephone inquiries as well as direct phone, in-person and e-mail inquiries to the appropriate team member Scan and import documents into the tax software and assign them to the proper accounts identify new taxpayers through review of utility listings and new resident listings, and sending requests for completion of taxpayer registration forms. Assist with data entry from withholding reconciliations, researching and modifying taxpayer addresses monitor and order office supplies Reconcile petty cash Other clerical duties as assigned Applicant should have at least a high school graduate-level of ability in English, grammar, and business math with related financial, tax and/or banking experience desired. Applicant must be able to work with a high degree of accuracy.

This position is a responsible clerical position requiring general clerical, office and technology skills. Must possess excellent telephone and direct personal communication skills. Examples of DutiesDISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE POSITION
Responsible for answering general telephone inquiries as well as directing phone, in-person and e-mail inquiries to the appropriate team member. This position involves scanning and importing documents into the tax software and assigning them to the proper accounts, identifying new taxpayers through review of utility listings and new resident listings, and sending requests for completion of taxpayer registration forms. Additional responsibilities include assisting with data entry from withholding reconciliations, researching and modifying taxpayer addresses based on returned mail, monitoring and ordering office supplies as needed, reconciling petty cash, and other clerical duties as assigned. Regular and predictable on-site attendance required. Typical QualificationsREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The ideal applicant will have knowledge and expertise with computers, the ability to problem solve and apply logic to situations appropriate for the position, good organizational skills, and good data entry skills. The applicant must work well with others and project a positive image to the public. Must have good knowledge of office clerical practices, procedures and filing systems (both paper and electronic). Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work and communicate effectively with staff, other City employees and the general public.ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
