Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Accounting Assistant serves as the first point of contact for visitors, customers, vendors, and employees while providing administrative and accounting support to the organization. This position is responsible for managing front desk operations, answering and directing calls, processing paperwork, and performing accurate data entry related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, and general accounting functions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet and assist visitors, customers, vendors, and applicants in a professional manner. Answer, screen, and direct incoming phone calls. Manage incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries. Assist with accounts payable processing, including matching invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents. Support accounts receivable activities, including customer payment entry and documentation. Verify data for accuracy and completeness before entry. Maintain organized electronic and physical accounting records. Research and resolve routine discrepancies and document issues. Assist accounting staff with month-end and year-end administrative processes. Reconcile paperwork and supporting documentation as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Minimum 1-2 years of administrative, receptionist, or accounting support experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and Word. Experience with accounting software or ERP systems preferred. Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Professional appearance and customer service-oriented attitude. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
PHYSICAL & WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Primarily in office‑based role Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
EMPLOYMENT STATUS
Employment is at-will and contingent upon onboarding requirements and any required background checks.
Pay:
$20.00 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
