OBJECTIVE
Accounting Clerk is responsible for providing accounting and clerical support to the accounting department. This role involves maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and recording a wide range of transactions. The Accounting Clerk ensures the accuracy of financial documentation and assists accountants with various administrative tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain Financial Records:
Keep financial records updated and ensure their accuracy.
Prepare Reports:
Generate financial reports needed for the business.
Record Transactions:
Enter key data of financial transactions into the database/ERP system.
Reconcile Accounts:
Reconcile bank statements and accounts in a timely manner.
Administrative Support:
Provide clerical support to the accounting department, including typing, preparing, and maintaining accounting documents and records.
Handle Invoices:
Process invoices, organize office mail, and manage customer and vendor accounts.
Resolve Discrepancies:
Research, track, and resolve accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
Compliance:
Ensure all functions are performed in accordance with established standards, procedures, and applicable laws.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Experience:
Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable Clerk.
Knowledge:
Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures.
Technical Skills:
Competency in MS Office, databases, and accounting software Attention to
Detail:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Communication:
Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
Problem-Solving:
Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
EDUCATION
An Associate of Business Degree in Accounting/Finance desired but not required
