Job Description

Steve's Diesel & Truck Service is a family owned and operated diesel repair and towing shop in Elk City, and we're hiring a full-time Office & Accounting Coordinator . This person is the first voice our customers hear and a key part of keeping our records accurate. You'll run a high-volume front office: answering calls, managing repair and tow tickets, and handling accounts receivable, accounts payable, and commission-based payroll preparation. Attention to detail matters here, because every ticket, invoice, and paycheck starts on this desk. What You'll Do Front office: Answer and route calls, including repair, tow, and roadside requests; capture complete tow call details and relay them to drivers and the shop; greet customers and give repair status updates
Tickets:
Open, update, and close repair orders and tow tickets in Mitchell 1; confirm each ticket is complete before billing Accounts receivable: Invoice completed tickets, post payments, prepare deposits, and follow up on past-due accounts Accounts payable: Enter and match vendor invoices, prepare payments for approval, and reconcile vendor statements Payroll prep: Verify weekly time records and calculate commission, overtime, on-call, and PTO pay using company formulas and policy
Month-end:
Reconcile bank and credit card accounts, keep records audit-ready, and support year-end work with our outside accountant Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping, AP/AR, payroll, or office administration Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel Strong math skills and a high level of accuracy with data entry Professional phone manner, including with upset or stressed callers Ability to keep payroll, customer, and company information confidential Valid driver's license Preferred Qualifications Experience calculating commission, piece-rate, or incentive-based payroll Experience in an automotive, diesel, towing, or trades business Accounting or bookkeeping coursework or certificate Mitchell 1 or shop management software experience (not required; we'll train you) What We Offer $17/hour starting, negotiable with experience; overtime paid at 1.5x Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. No nights or weekends. Benefits start the first of the month after a 60-day probationary period Work Environment This is mostly desk work in a busy shop front office. It includes occasional lifting up to 25 lbs, trips into the shop and yard, and driving for bank deposits and errands. Background check and pre-employment drug screening required. From $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
