We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team! The Accounting Assistant will work with the Finance Director and other team members to successfully execute various accounting tasks according to Department procedures and GAAP principles.
Duties:
Maintain company ledgers and financial transactions. Analyze accounts for accuracy Identify discrepancies in ledgers and accounts, tracking them to the source and correcting them. Create and maintain supplemental schedules. Accrual analysis and general journal entries Prepaid expenses analysis and general journal entries Bank accounts reconciliation including reconciliation of deposits with accounts receivable and liability accounts Prepare account analysis and workpapers with supporting documentation as directed Perform month end close activities Review budgets and compare actual costs Assist in budget and audit preparation Support Finance Team members as necessary Perform other duties as assigned Maintain accurate and timely, detailed and compliant files Gather and prepare documentation for related and accounting tasks. Ensure logs, files, are accurate and complete.
Requirements:
Knowledge of GAAP ( General Accepted Accounting Principles) and Accrual accounting principles Knowledge of Accounts Receivable, Account Payable, Payroll principles Ability to identify errors and solve problems Data entry skills/ knowledge Advanced or Proficient Microsoft Excel skills Ability to work within various databases systems Strong organizational and time management skills Multitasking abilities Must be able to meet strict deadlines Must have good written and verbal communications skills, maintain confidentiality Must be 18 years or older. May not have an Indicated or Founded Child Abuse Offense.
Pay:
$24.00 per hour Expected hours: 37.5 per week
